Irksome things

  • I'm Listening to: co-workers
  Some people take the writing craft a bit too seriously.  No, I don't mean when they're sitting down writing that novel, or short story or poem; I'm talking about if they answer a post or respond to a comment.  I've noticed a couple times with the different blogs and groups I browse and belong to - I am also on myspace - that people are quick to judge and be just, well, snide, rude and ignorant.
  It doesn's make a lot of sense to me.  Is it jealousy?  Frustration at their own struggles with the craft?  Or, is it just plain old making thyself feel better by trying to bring down someone else?  
  Seriously, if someone sends me a comment, I dont care if they didnt capitalize the beginning of a sentence, or make a typing error.  I just assume they're in a hurry, or lazy, or just didn't want to.  I don't assume they don't know the language or anything about grammar or spelling.

Anyway, that is all.
